I haven't posted much on this because there's always so much that happens every week, it's hard to keep track. Every week, we take a group to the Kemah Boardwalk (KB) a 5:30 on Sunday Nights. We meet beside the Boardwalk Bullet. Usually, our schedule goes something like:
1. Straggle in because we're all trying to find a free parking spot.
2. Divide up tract so everyone can distribute the "Silent Preachers"
3. Pray!!!!!! - We do this periodic throughout the evening.
4. I (Frank) usually sets up his portable PA and milk crate, and gets situated as the team fans out to pray, and beging passing out tracts, and interacting with people. Prayer team may go and sit at Starbucks to beging praying.
5. I start preaching, and it usually causes a stir because it's pretty loud, and the acoustics of the buildings & bushes contain it pretty well, and it's the main feed for all the extra parking. Sometimes I start light (no pun intended), do trivia questions to draw a crowd. Sometimes, I start with the basic Law to grace presentation to get the jitters out.
6. As people walk past, some stop and engage, most keep walking making their comments as they go. The faithful laborers pass out tracts, and are willing to extend a conversation. The bolder fisherman initiate conversation.
People from all over the world come to the KB and get to hear the Gospel. No two weeks are the same, and the fruit of our labor is mostly unseen, or slow "return" at best. However, we all since the "pleasure of God" as we work. And gratitude to the Lamb that was slain is our main motivaion.
