Got of my duff, and decided to do something! While we were at the park, I had a brainstorm. Why not stand at this post office, and just hand out tracts. I called League City Post office, and they told me that it was not legal to "solicit" anywhere on gov. property. I said thanks, and looked up some info. Soliciting is diff. than "leafleting."
We have rehearsal tonight, so I figured I would hit "rush hour" (4:30 - 5:30), then go home to get my family to head to the church building. This is a great place to tract, because everyone is funneled through this sidewalk (above).
There wasn't much of a rush hour though, although, the make up of Kemah is very interesting. It's more of a rush for me. Mom and dad always taught me to respect those that are older than me. Kemah is made up of people older than my mom and dad. It's very intimidating for me to engage in a conversation with them. Every time someone pulled up in the parking lot, I prayed that God would give me the courage to open my mouth. I let love for the Savior and love for them consume my fears.
I was also wearing my Anchor T-shirt, which also allowed me to be a billboard for the church (insert fat jokes). One lady connected the shirt and tract with Fall Festival, and commented how wonderful of an event that it was for her and her grandchildren. Another lady from the marina also said she might try to make it on Sunday.
Only about 1/2 of the people actually took gospel tracts, but I pray that God would use those "silent preachers" to change hearts for his glory, and that more souls would be added to His Kingdom, and that Kemah would be turned up side down.
Glory to the Lamb!
