Liberty!

On Friday, I got the privelege of preaching in Liberty, TX. There are two courthouses that I've always wanted to preach in front of. Liberty and Livingston. My dad always tells about a black man named Saul that would preach in front of the Livingston courthouse. He seemed to be a nuisance in the urbanizing community, but he sure made an impact on many people, including my dad. Of course, my dad didn't get saved by hearing Saul's preaching, but just his presence and his voice lifting up the name of Jesus and waving his Bible in the air planted or watered seeds that bore fruit, even unto this blog! This concept does make me rethink the concept of the necessity of drawing a crowd. Just being consistent somewhere with your presence may be a part of the glory of Christ.

Anyways, I started preaching at about 4:45, trying to catch the rush hour traffic. I had my speaker and microphone on, so I was pretty loud. Since there wasn't very many people around, I knew I would catch all the traffic stopped at the red light, which is the intersection in the picture above. While I preached, my Sara and the kids played on the courthouse lawn. Growing up with a dad as an open-air preacher and a musician must be pretty strange, but they know and understand why I do it. Sara supports me as I grow, and since God pointing me in certain directions, like stopping for 45 min. to preach on an already 90 min. drive. Thank you God for Sara!

When all was said and done that day, I felt like an obedient worker for Christ. There wasn't much reaction, and only one tract given out, but I pray that he uses those seeds for His glory!
